Troubleshooting and publishing checklist

I cannot generate a new book

Check the message shown by the Generator.

• Sign-in required: sign in and retry.
• Free book already created: open the existing project or choose a plan that supports another book.
• Not enough credits: buy credits or ask your enterprise administrator.
• Identical book exists: open the Dashboard or change the duplicated details.
• Moderation message: revise the summary, prompt, or reference content.

A generation or edit button is disabled

Another AI operation may be running. Most accounts allow one generation-based action at a time.

Wait for the active generation, transformation, text removal, typography restyle, or export preparation to finish. Enterprise concurrency depends on the subscription.

If no visible job is running, refresh the page and reopen the project.

Reference upload fails

Confirm that the image:

• Is JPEG, PNG, or WebP
• Is 5 MB or smaller
• Is at least 256 × 256 pixels
• Is no larger than 4096 × 4096 pixels
• Can be opened normally on your device

You must also accept the reference-image terms. Pro supports one reference per generation and Enterprise supports up to four.

Cover text is wrong or unsupported

For spelling, line breaks, position, font, or color, use Edit title & author rather than regenerating the artwork.

Text tools are optimized for Latin characters. If your title uses a script that is not currently supported, create a text-free version and typeset it in a tool that supports the required writing system.

The result does not follow my prompt

Try these fixes:

1. Use one clear visual direction.
2. Put must-have elements first.
3. Remove plot details that are not visible.
4. State what to avoid.
5. In Guided projects, switch to Free Prompt for verbatim control.
6. Use a reference image when style consistency matters.
7. Transform the strongest existing cover instead of starting over.

The full-wrap spine or edges look wrong

• Confirm binding, trim size, paper, and final page count.
• Use Regenerate wrap fit if the front bleed extension looks stretched.
• Regenerate the back artwork if its composition does not fit.
• Remember that spine text requires enough pages.
• Compare the export with a newly downloaded printer template.

Do not reuse a wrap after the interior page count changes without recalculating it.

PDF export says it succeeded but I do not see the file

The PDF opens in a new browser tab. Allow pop-ups for BeYourCover, then export again. Check the browser's downloads and blocked-pop-up indicator.

A batch download has not arrived

Batch jobs are processed in the background and delivered by email. Check spam and confirm you are checking the email attached to the account.

When ready, the link is valid for seven days. If the job reports a partial result, download the completed files and retry the failed selections.

A marketing asset is still processing

You can close the marketing window while it runs. Return to the book workspace and wait for the completion notification. Reopening the marketing tool also loads previously completed assets.

Credits changed after an error

Refresh the workspace first. Some tools reserve or deduct credits before a provider finishes and then refund failed work automatically.

If the balance still appears wrong, report the issue with the book title, action, approximate time, and before/after balance. Avoid repeatedly launching the same failed action while support investigates.

Final publishing checklist

Every cover

• Title, subtitle, author, and series information are correct.
• No AI artifacts, unwanted text, or accidental logos remain.
• The cover reads clearly at thumbnail size.
• You have the rights to every uploaded reference and source image.
• The file format, dimensions, color requirements, and size match the destination.

eBook

• Correct portrait aspect ratio for the retailer.
• High-resolution file downloaded without watermark.
• No critical content at the extreme edge.

Audiobook

• Square 1:1 layout.
• Full-resolution 2400 × 2400 file where appropriate.
• Typography remains readable after the crop.
• Current distributor requirements have been checked.

Print wrap

• Binding, trim, paper, and page count match the final interior.
• Spine width matches the current printer template.
• Important text remains inside safe areas.
• Bleed or hardcover wrap extends fully.
• Hinge areas are respected on hardcover.
• Barcode space is clear.
• The editor's barcode guide is not mistaken for a real barcode.
• The exported PDF has been reviewed at 100% zoom.

Marketing

• Correct platform aspect ratio.
• Cover artwork was not distorted.
• People, hands, props, and book geometry look plausible.
• Any captions, prices, calls to action, or disclosures are added and verified separately.
